Direct Dental Bonding

Perfect for minor fixes and discoloration. Dental bonding can be placed on the front of your teeth to cover chips, cracks, and discoloration.

Bob had several things going on, visible cavities, very worn and short teeth, some old dentistry and an unstable occlusion or “bite”.

Something that needs to be considered when the teeth are this worn, teeth hold up the upper 2/3 of your face. If the teeth become short through excess wear, trauma, or are lose, the face cannot be supported.

When we see someone like this we usually want to rebuild them with direct composite veneers, after all cavities have been cleaned up and any gum disease or gingival issues have been cleared, Then we use direct composite veneers or composite crowns to restore the smile to form and function.

Both are non-invasive procedures, which can also be used for doing gap (diastema) closures and other non-invasive cosmetic dental procedures.

When restored, Bob’s smile looked great and this procedure can usually be performed in just one visit.

Ceramic Dental Veneers

Thin shells of porcelain or composite resin that are custom made to fit over teeth, providing a natural, attractive look. Used to fix chipped, stained, misaligned, worn down, uneven or abnormally spaced teeth.

Carol didn’t like her gap-tooth (diastema) look and the flared out position of her upper teeth.

She’d turned down orthodontics (metal braces), so instant orthodontics became her choice of options.

Instant orthodontics is a group of procedures that use porcelain veneers and dental crowns to eliminate gaps, correct overlaps, and improve the cosmetic appearance of a smile.

Instant orthodontics is quick, permanent, involves no retainers and usually takes less than two weeks, often without grinding down or drilling of teeth.

Only her upper arch was treated. Gingival (gum) lines were altered as much as possible to match her upper left lateral incisor tooth with a very high gum line.

The results of the treatment were very pleasing for both Carol and Dr. Griffin.

Case Studies

Alice was young when she decided she wanted to have a perfect smile, so she had her teeth evenly separated orthodontically to make space for cosmetic veneers.

We didn’t do any preparation or drilling on Alice’s teeth and only a topical anesthetic was used.

Later, a dental laser was used to even out the gum line slightly. The whole process was additive only, Alice’s teeth were not altered for her veneers.

Decades later her smile looks just as great as it did right after the procedure.
